Subject: Aguilar's "Back of the Head" Witnesses - 7 Date: Wed, 06 Jun 2001 00:08:21 GMT From: jmcadams@primenet.com (John McAdams) Organization: Marquette University Newsgroups: alt.assassination.jfk Followup-To: alt.assassination.jfk Gary Aguilar claims to have examined the testimony of 46 witnesses to Kennedy's head wound, at both Parkland and Bethesda, and found that 44 of the 46 described the head wound as contradicting the photos and x-rays of the autopsy as they exist in the National Archives. So does Gary have 44 "back of the head" witnesses? And are his 46 witnesses selected so as to avoid witnesses who placed the wound at the top of the head, or the side of the head? Let's take one example: The following quotes from Aguilar are taken from: http://www.assassinationweb.com/ag6.htm >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 21) WILLIAM MIDGETT, MD, an Obstetrics and Gynecology resident at Parkland greeted the President's limousine pushing a stretcher. In an interview with Wallace Milam on February 8, 1993, he described JFK's wound as "right parietal" and said it was behind the right ear. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< While many of the witnesses whom Aguilar cites said the wound was "occipital-parietal," Midgett simply said it was "parietal." But Aguilar is insisting that the back of the head was blown out, and that occipital bone was blown out. How in heaven's name does a "parietal" witness support this? Saying the wound was "behind the right ear" places it in a posterior position, but doesn't particularly imply the back of the head was blown out. It could describe a wound on the side of the head behind the ear, or a wound on the *top* of the head behind the ear. If the latter, that's perfectly consistent with what the photos and x-rays show. Midgett was interviewed by Gerald Posner, and he repeated to Posner that it "was more parietal than occipital -- that much I could see. I did not turn the President over to look, but there was no cerebellum in that car or on the people." CASE CLOSED, paperback, 309. So it seems that yet another of Aguilar's "back of the head" witnesses isn't a back of the head witness at all. .John The Kennedy Assassination Home Page http://mcadams.posc.mu.edu/home.htm
